Communicating with Our School
At CBE, we believe that strong home-school communication is essential to student success. If you have questions or concerns regarding your child's learning, progress, classroom experiences, or day-to-day activities, your child's teacher is always the first point of contact. Teachers work closely with students and families and are best positioned to address most questions and concerns. If additional support is needed, school administration can then work collaboratively with families and teachers to help resolve the issue. Following this communication pathway helps ensure concerns are addressed efficiently and by those closest to your child's learning experience. Thank you for partnering with us to support student success.
Parking Lot and Bus Zone Safety
To help keep all students safe during arrival and dismissal times, we ask families to avoid parking in the school parking lot or designated school bus zones. These areas are reserved for staff, authorized visitors, and school buses to ensure the safe and efficient movement of students. Parking in these locations can create congestion, limit visibility, and increase safety risks for children. We encourage families to use designated street parking and follow all posted traffic signs and regulations. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe environment for all students, families, and staff.
Meet the Teacher Evening (4:00 PM-5:30 PM) and Harvest Festival (4:00 PM-7:30 PM)
We look forward to welcoming families to our Meet the Teacher evening. This event is designed as an opportunity for parents and guardians to introduce themselves, meet school staff, and become familiar with their child's learning environment. Teachers will be available in classrooms, and our Physical Education team will have an information table set up in the hallway. Please note that the gyms will be closed during the event. As this is an introductory gathering, it is not intended for individual discussions about student academic progress. Thank you for helping us make this a welcoming and positive experience for all families.
Child & Youth Well-Being Sessions for Families & Caregivers
The CBE invites all parents and guardians to join us for a live online series focused on supporting child and youth well-being. Hosted by the Recovery Alberta Community Education Service (CES) Program in collaboration with experts from the Calgary community, this year's sessions will explore a range of timely topics.
These sessions are free and provide information, resources, helplines, and services to support healthy child and youth development.
