Health & Wellness at the CBE

At the CBE, we believe in a whole school approach to health and wellness. We call this our Comprehensive School Health (CSH) approach. CSH is about healthy eating, active living, supportive social environments and positive mental health. As a system, we focus on the following four areas: healthy eating; healthy relationships; physical activity; and positive mental health. Each school creates its own approach and goals for health and wellness.

Regular Exercise

It is an established fact that participation in physical activity can provide individuals with many health benefits. One of our Physical Education goals is to help students recognize the importance of regular exercise in their lives and to encourage daily participation in physical activity. We hope that participation becomes a lifetime habit for our students. It is expected that all students participate to the best of their ability in Physical Education classes, unless excused by a doctor’s note. Students will be expected to participate by doing modified activities if they have an injury that prevents specific movements or activities.

Students are encouraged to commute to school in a healthy way.  Find more information in Getting to School.
