Indoor/Outdoor Shoes and Dressing for the Weather

As the weather shifts to cooler temperatures, we would like to remind students to dress appropriately to be outside for mornings before the school opens, lunch recess, recess, and Phys.Ed. The CBE has a cutoff of -20 until students come inside. Toques, gloves, mitts, and boots will be needed.

Please remind your child that all students:

  • Are expected to remove soiled outdoor footwear when entering the building
  • Are expected to have Indoor Shoes

This is to keep are floors dry and safe throughout the day, especially as the weather changes.

Halloween

On Thursday, October 31, students are invited to dress in their Halloween costumes.  If your child chooses to dress up, please ensure that the costume is comfortable for them to wear for the whole day and participate in all learning activities, including Phys. Ed.  Costumes that include weapons, masks or face coverings or costumes of violent or gory nature are not permitted. 

Photo Retakes

Photo Retakes are the morning of Tuesday October 29.  Please write a note/e-mail to your HR child’s teacher to indicate that they are requiring retakes.  There is also an area on the proofs that went home that you can send with your child that indicate they would like retakes taken. Tuesday/Thursday Kindergarten are getting their photos taken for the first time tomorrow.  

Lost and Found

Our lost and found is overflowing.  Please have your child check it and/or come check in at the main office and take a look.  It is extremely helpful to label your child’s clothing so when we go through it we can return it.  In a couple of weeks we will be collecting the lost and found and donating it to a school with children in need.  

HOLIDAY MARKET - All Ages Parented Event

Sign those crafty kids up to be vendors at our Holiday Market, where they can sell crafts, resell goods, or offer fun services like face painting!

It's a great opportunity and a safe place for GW students to showcase their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit while supporting each other. Enjoy hot chocolate and holiday treats while the kids are shilling their wares. Deadline for all vendor applications is November 15 at midnight!

Entry is FREE for Vendors ($20 table rental), and all guests granted entry at the door with one non perishable food item per person.

Volunteers are needed to help make this event a success!
