Meet the Teacher & Harvest Festival

Our Meet the Teacher will be on September 25 from 4pm - 6pm.  This is an opportunity to come into the school with your child and see their classrooms and meet their teachers.  These are not formal meetings on how your child is doing in the classroom, as it is early days and those more formal meetings will happen in November.

Outside of the school we will be celebrating the fabulous work of our Garden Club and parent volunteers with some games and Food Trucks.

IPP Meetings

Teachers are reaching out to families for the opportunity for feedback on the creation and targets for students on IPP's.  Feedback can be via e-mail or a meeting and is by teacher request only.

Athletics

Soccer and Basketball tryouts are taking place and teams will be formed soon.  Students can check the bulletin board by the Main Gym for information.  An e-mail from Mr. Jordan went out on tryout times and locations so please refer to that. Once teams are formed, communication will be with the coaches of the respective teams.

Our first Cross Country meet was last Thursday for our students, and we look forward to them competing in a couple more events.

Dare to Care Program

Griffith Woods uses the Dare to Care program to support teaching Social Emotional Learning.  All grades from K-9 use the lessons and resources to explore topics like conflict resolution, anti-bullying, digital citizenship, and anti-racism.  It helps to have a common language across the school.  The program offers a parent portal to access topics and learn about the program.

Subscription Access (Returning Users)

All returning users who have previously enrolled on the Griffith Woods School page have had their subscriptions extended through September 8, 2026. No new registration steps are required — they can continue using the program as usual.
