GW Weekly Sept. 13 | Meet the Teacher, Harvest Festival, Volunteers, Forms, Fun Lunch, Athletics
It was great to see all the parents cheering on the students and staff during our Terry Fox run this past week. We were lucky to have Fred Fox give an inspiring presentation to the whole school and you can tell the students were motivated to run as many laps as they could. We have raised over $3000 as a school thus far and we are closing in on our goal of $4750. If interested in donating to the Terry Fox Foundation on behalf of the school you can donate here: https://schools.terryfox.ca/31365
Please remember there is no parking and/or driving through our Staff Parking Lot for drop off and pick up of students. This is a safety issue and must be respected. We have had an increased Police presence this week to ensure traffic laws are being followed to support the safety of our students during the drop off and pick up hours.
Open House/Meet the Teacher
We will be hosting an Open House on the evening of Thursday September 21 from 5 pm – 7 pm. This will be an opportunity to come in see the school, meet your child’s teachers, and to see their classroom. Outside of the school our wonderful school council will be hosting their 2nd Annual Harvest Festival. See the message below from the school council regarding the Harvest Festival.
IPP Meetings
Time has been set aside for student Individual Program Plan (IPP) meetings between teachers and parents on Friday September 22, 8-1pm. Teachers will be reaching out to families to discuss possible targets, specific strategies and accommodations that will be documented in your child’s IPP. These meetings can be in-person or online meeting and will be 15 minutes.
