Traffic Safety
Please, if dropping you child off in front of the school, ensure that they and yourself use the crosswalk. It is extremely dangerous during drop off and pick to jaywalk across in between buses and traffic. We have had a few near misses and we need this behaviour to stop. Thank you for keeping our students safe by respecting the traffic laws outside of our building.

Hosting Basketball Games - Spectator Expectations at Griffith Woods Sporting/Athletic Events
As parents and spectators, it’s important to remember that our behavior sets the tone for the experience of the athletes, officials, and everyone involved. Here are a few guidelines to ensure a positive environment at our school sporting events:
- Relieve pressure, don’t increase it. Let them enjoy their experience without added stress.
- Cheer for their effort but allow them to grow through their own performance.
- Respect the judgment of officials and coaches. Their decisions may not always align with your perspective, but it’s important to demonstrate respect for their role and maintain control.
- Show sportsmanship in all outcomes. Win with humility and lose with dignity. Your attitude in both moments is just as important as the final score.
Please be aware that Griffith Woods School reserves the right to remove any spectator who does not uphold these expectations at our events. An administrator will be present for all games to assist with supervision during the games. Let’s create an environment where our student-athletes can thrive!
Thank you so much for supporting our athletes, coaches and referees throughout the athletic season.
Fees for Field Trips
We take great pride at Griffith Woods School in our off and on site activity program. These are important and rich experiences which enhance the learning of our students. It allows them to participate hands-on and apply their learning in fun and engaging ways in our school and at various venues around the city. When teachers plan these activities, the school is often required to pay the full cost up front in order to confirm the booking. If families do not pay the fees associated with these learning experiences provided to their children, the school is responsible to pay for the difference
Most on and off-site activities charge one fee for the program and not per student, therefore it is not refundable if your child has agreed to go. However, according to CBE admin regulations, any activity fees that are charged per student based on the number of students in attendance the day of the activity will be refundable to families of those children absent.
When you receive information from your child’s teacher regarding an upcoming onsite or offsite activity, please pay the fee in a timely manner. Payment can be made through your MyCBE account.
