Thank you for coming in last Friday for our Celebration of Learning.  It was such a great turnout and your support is appreciated.

Paul Davis Parent Presentation on Social Media Safety

We are lucky to be able to get Paul Davis to present to our Grade 6-9 students and host him for a separate parents only presentation on Tuesday March 12 at 7pm in the Main Gym. His presentation will give you social media safety tips to support you in how you navigate the topics of cyberbullying, online security, digital trails, and smartphones. The parent presentation is for all parents, no matter what grade your child is in.  For more information on him and his presentation check out his website, https://socialnetworkingsafety.net/sample-page/

Extra Curricular Volleyball

All volleyball teams were playing in tournaments over the past week.  A big congratulations to our Senior Girls Volleyball team for winning the Ernest Manning Feeder Tournament.  We will be hosting Junior Boys and Girls games this week on Wednesday and Thursday.

All CBE middle schools have set similar expectations for games that promote safety, respect, and a positive experience for all. They include:

  • All student spectators/athletes must be under the direct supervision of a designated adult for the duration of the games
  • There are no in an out privileges for spectators
  • Student spectators without parental supervision will be directed by the hosting school administration to leave the building
  • All spectators - students or adults - are expected to cheer and support players/coaches/referees/parents/guardians in a positive manner
  • Disrespectful behaviors will be addressed by school administration promptly and may result in spectators being directed to leave the game and the school building
  • Parents/guardians who bring younger children are responsible at all times for their direct supervision. Please ensure that they are not wandering the halls and playing on Phys Ed equipment in the gym/on stage

These expectations have been reviewed with all of our students in school. Please review with your student(s) as well. We thank you in advance for your ongoing support.
