CBE School Bus Registration
Families are now able to register for school bus registration for 2024-25 school year. You register on your MyCBE account. Service levels and proposed fees will remain the same as the current school year. Families must register by June 16 for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year.
We continue to accept registrations after the deadline, however, students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume. Find out more information!
National Indigenous Month
June is National Indigenous History Month, a month to celebrate the cultures, traditions, and experiences of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples in Canada. This year's theme is "inspiring our youth for change," aiming to empower the next generation through pride, cultural knowledge, and education. Join us in celebrating National Indigenous History Month and our ongoing journey toward Truth and Reconciliation. Attached is a June Wellness challenge.

Extra Yearbooks
Cereal Box Challenge
Thank you for all of your generous donations. As a school we were able to raise 2080 cereal boxes for the foodbank, breaking our record from last year. A thank you to our sponsors, No Frills, Superstore, Safeway, who supported the cause by providing gift cards of various denominations and boxes of cereal.
Library Books Due
- June 3 - June 7 will be the final week of students being able to check out new books.
- All books will be due by Monday, June 17. The sooner the better of course! To give a little incentive, the first class to return all their books will win a popsicle treat provided by Mrs. Howard
- Those students who have not returned their overdue books will be invoiced a $10 Lost Book Fee to their Power School account.
- Reminder slips and checklists of places to look for lost books will be provided to students who need them.

Away for the Day Cell Phone Policy
A reminder that At GW we have an 'Away for the Day' policy. All phones need to be turned off and out of sight during class time. Phones can only be used in class with specific teacher permission to support a learning activity. The expectation is that cell phones will not be on their person during class time and movement between classes. Grades 7 to 9 must keep their phones in their locker. In grades 5 and 6, if students have a cell phone, they will be kept in a safe place at the discretion of their teacher. Smartwatches are considered the same as cell phones and can be worn but not used for communication during class time.
