Challenge Day/Food Trucks/McDonald's on Monday June 23

Please have your child dress for the weather as the majority of the events will be outside from 8:45am-10:30am.

There are Food Trucks offered for our Grade 5-9 students and they will all be having an Outdoor Picnic style lunch.   Please don't have older siblings buy items for their younger siblings.

It's also a Healthy Hunger day, McDonald's.

A big thank you to all the parent volunteers!

Lost and Found

The lost and found is displayed in the main foyer for a few more days before it gets picked up and donated.  If your child is missing something please check in at the main office and take a look.  We have tried to return as best we can the items that are labeled.

Last Day of School is an Early Dismissal  on June 26

A reminder the last day of school is June 26th and students are dismissed at 12pm.  School offices close the next day at 12pm for the summer.  The first day back at school is Tuesday September 2.

Please send your child with a bag to bring back all their belongings back home.

Next Year Class Assignments

The opportunity for parent voice in next year's class placements has passed.   Teachers work together in teams to ensure the best possible class composite.  Teachers’ decisions are rooted in a strong instructional and social/emotional rationale.  Many students have been together for a while and in a K-9 every year is a new opportunity for students to grow, mature, and opportunities to develop new relationships with other students.  We understand that friendships and relationships among students change throughout the summer, but this is not a reason to change class assignments for next year.   We stand by our instructional decisions, which have been made with the best insight and in a collaborative approach between teachers. It should also be noted that in a K-9 with a fixed cohort, there are only a certain number of possible configurations throughout the years.

With our adolescent learners, preparing them for High School includes living with a certain degree of uncertainty.  Only through embracing this uncertainty and new opportunities to develop relationships with others do adolescents grow in their level of preparedness for their future worlds.
