Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures
Please ensure to drop your child off at the door and pick them up outside of the building. Any adult in the building that is not staff needs to check into the office before coming into the school. This is a safety and security issue. We have supervision inside and outside the building to ensure your child gets to their class and home safely. If your child attends Brightpath and they have canceled pick up due to extreme cold, your child will still go to the same meeting spot in the Main Foyer bench and parents/guardians can come check-in through the Main Office to ensure a safe pick-up.
Please continue to let the office know at griffithwoods@cbe.ab.ca or call (403) 817-3572 for appointments during the day as staff can arrange pick up and ensure your child is ready to go at the desired time. Thank you for your support with this.
Celebration of Learning & Parent/Teacher Conferences
We'll be inviting parents/guardians to come in with their child to view and celebrate their work in their classroom(s). Our Celebration of Learning will be happening on Friday March 7 from 1-3pm.
Parent/teacher conferences will be occurring over two Friday afternoons. They'll be a choice of having an In-Person conference or an Online one. Friday March 14 P/T Conferences will be In-Person, from 1pm-4pm and on Friday March 21 they will be Online from 8am-12pm. The booking system will open up on Friday March 7 at 6pm. There are not enough spots in Grade 5-9 classrooms for all families to have a conference, so it is important to be checking Powerschool regularly for assessment and attending the Celebration of Learning. If you child is doing well and there are no concerns it is not necessary to sign up for a conference in March.
Lost and Found
We are racking up quite the collection of gloves/mittens and toques. We have displayed them by the front office. If you want to see if that’s where they might have ended up please come check in at the office first and have a look.

Viewing Volleyball Games at Other Schools
If a Griffith Woods student wants to view a volleyball game at another school it is our policy (along with the schools in our division) that they are accompanied by a supervising adult. If they arrive without, they will not be let into the building. Thank you for supporting this. When we have home games, GW students are welcome, unsupervised, as long they are respectful spectators.
