Staff Appreciation
School Council is running a staff appreciation event before Winter Break, and they need some help and support in the form of treats and cookies. Please see the link here to sign up to add in an item.
Reporting and Assessment
To give teachers more time for assessment and students more time for learning, Report Cards are being pushed to a later date and will be made available to parents on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.
Attendance
As a school we monitor attendance and lates of students as it has a direct impact on student learning. Being on time, as we start at 8am, is also very important as many early literacy and numeracy lessons happen first thing in the morning.
When we see students missing over 20% of classes, we become concerned. We look at the reasons given as we understand there are a lot of illness going around and that there has only been a few months of school. If your child is ill, they should stay home and we 100% support that practice.
Attendance e-mails will go out to families at the end of December if their child is missing over 20% of school or they are chronically late. This a chance to start the conversation and to see if there is anything the school can do and/or barriers that can be removed to support regular attendance and/or coming to school on time. If you receive this e-mail and you know that attendance has been affected by a Family Event and/or illness and it will improve no need to respond back.
Unfortunately we can not change the time our school starts, as that is not our decision, nor can we change the amount of traffic in front of our building.
Thank you for continuing to call in or e-mail when your child will not be attending or is late.
