Indoor Shoes and Dressing for the Weather
As we are now enduring some winter weather we have a few reminders for families.
- All students need indoor shoes for gym and in the classroom
- Please ensure your child dresses for the weather as recess is always outside as long as it's above -20 degrees celsius and so is Physical Education at times
- It's helpful to label jackets, boots and gloves as inevitably some of those end up in the lost and found
Smartwatches and 'Away for the Day'
Alberta, CBE's, and Griffith Woods personal device policy is 'Away for the Day' and this does include Smartwatches. If students have phones or smartwatches they can not be on their person during the school day. They have to be left in their backpack, their locker, or with their teacher and can not used until after school. Season of Giving - Donations for the Drop-In Centre
For the month of December each classroom will be collecting an item, that will be donated to the Drop-In Centre. This is a tradition we have had at Griffith Woods for the past 4 years and we consistently step up and are so generous in supporting this cause, so thank you in advance. Below is the list of items for each class.

Absences
That you for reporting absences by either calling the school and leaving a message at 403-817-3572 or e-mailing at griffithwoods@cbe.ab.ca. A reminder school starts at 8am and the building opens at 7:50am. If your child has an appointment during the school time, it's helpful to call 10 minutes before pick up so we can track them down and get them ready for when you're here.
