Bus Students

Please ensure that you talk with the teachers and/or office when your child is not taking the bus.  Otherwise, we hold up the whole bus looking for that student.  Thank you for your help 😊

Healthy Hunger – Grade 1-9 Only (Sorry Kindergarten Families)

Healthy Hunger is an online platform that allows parents and guardians to purchase optional lunches and snacks for their child(ren) throughout the school year. This program serves as a school fundraiser organized by our School Council members.

If you are interested in ordering lunches for your child(ren), please register or log in at healthyhunger.ca. When registering, please ensure your child is assigned to the correct school and homeroom teacher

Once registered, you will receive notifications directly from Healthy Hunger about upcoming lunch opportunities. Please note that all order forms close five days prior to each Fun Lunch date.

Our first Fun Lunch of the year will be on September 28, featuring Chick-Fil-A. To participate, orders must be placed by midnight on September 24.

Please check the school calendar for reminders of what Healthy Hunger location will be available or the Healthy Hunger website https://griffithwoods.cbe.ab.ca/calendar.  For our school they are planned for Mondays.

Demographic Verification Forms Compliance

 The deadline for families to complete Demographic Verification Forms passed on Monday, Sep.14. Currently, approximately 45% of students do not have a completed Demographic Verification Form for the 2026-27 school year.

On Tuesday, Sep. 15 an overdue reminder communication was sent to parents / legal guardians who have not completed Demographic Verification Forms for the 2026-27 school year. This communication will continue to be sent the beginning of each week, with the final overdue reminder being sent on Friday, Oct. 30.

Important | These forms are a legal requirement from Alberta Education and Childcare for funding purposes. If forms remain incomplete, it may result in a reduction in funding for the Calgary Board of Education.

**Please update the "Nickname" or "Preferred" name in the demographic forms if your child goes by a different name.  

 Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Griffith Woods School the week of September 21. Classes will have an opportunity to come and shop during their regular scheduled library time.

On September 22 and 23, the fair will be open after school until 3:00pm. During the Open House, the fair will be open for families to come shop. Volunteers are needed to help things run smoothly, as the fair gets quite busy. Please ensure when signing up for a spot that you have a valid police clearance. IPP

Receiving IPPs by Email

Families of students with an Individualized Program Plan (IPP) should be aware that IPPs may be sent by email. While there are privacy risks when personal information is sent electronically, the school takes steps to protect student information.

  • IPPs will be sent as password-protected attachments.
  • The password is your child’s CBE ID number. The ID number will not be included in the email.
  • Your child’s CBE ID number can be found in your MyCBE account. If you cannot locate it, please contact the school to have the number provided by phone.
  • If you do not wish to receive your child’s IPP by email, please let your child’s teacher know. You may choose to pick up a copy at the school office or have a copy sent home with your child.

No action is required if you are comfortable receiving your child’s IPP by email.
