GW Weekly April 13-17

Hello Griffith Woods Families,

On April 13, we are proud to recognize National Good Deeds Day in our school.  This week, we encourage students to look for small, meaningful ways to help others.  For example, offering a hand, holding doors, explaining work to a classmate, tidying shared spaces, or simply checking in on someone who might need a smile.

As the quote reminds us, “We rise by lifting others.” Families are invited to continue these conversations at home by noticing and celebrating acts of kindness big and small. Together, we can help reinforce empathy, responsibility, and community for our students with one good deed at a time.

School Safety Patrols

We are so fortunate to have the AMA school safety patrols at Griffith Woods.  It is a big commitment for both our students and our Teachers.  Please remember to drive slow, watch for stop signs and please do not do u-turns at the crosswalk.  It is imperative that our students stay safe during this school pick up time.  Thank you to everyone that follows these guidelines every day and helps to keep our students safe 😊

Extra Clothes

As the ground becomes wet and muddy please send extra clothes (pants, socks) with your younger students so they can change into a dry pair of clothes if they get wet.  Thank you!

Hats on For Mental Health

Please wear a Hat on May 6 for Mental Health. Hats On! for Mental Health Day is an annual, province-wide initiative in Alberta.  This initiative helps schools to encourage students and staff to wear hats to spark conversation, reduce stigma, and promote mental wellness awareness.
